About
In 2004, I received my Ph.D. in Social Policy from the London School of Economics. Additionally, I hold a Masters degree in Housing Studies, and a Bachelors degree in Social Sciences.
I am currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Community Health and Preventive Medicine, Morehouse School of Medicine. Over the last few years my interest in health justice issues has evolved from an interest in patient rights/ empowerment (e.g. health care complaints, patient-focused health care) to an interest in health disparities/ inequities and the social determinants of health, particularly the societal factors that affect the health of African Americans and other minorities. I am also interested in racial and ethnic disparities/ inequities in the quality of health/ mental health services.
